Rice University student-athletes achieved in the classroom as a league-high 232 Owls earned a spot on Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll during the 2011-12 academic year Commissioner Britton Banowsky announced Tuesday.
Student-athletes named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better. A record 2,433 student-athletes have earned recognition to the Commissioner's Honor Roll.
UCF ranked second with 221, while Memphis followed closely with 218 student-athletes on the list. The total number honored is an increase of more than six percent from a year ago.
