Rice University's Athletics Marketing Department has been voted Best in Category in the Sports/Entertainment : Amateur category in the Houston chapter of the American Marketing Association 2012 Marketer of the Year competition.
The Owls efforts, led by Assistant Athletics Director Chad Kocian and Director of Marketing Greg Brungardt, received the top score from the combined votes of chapter members and the local judging panel of local marketing professionals and educators. As the category winner, Rice Athletics Marketing is now eligible to compete for the 2012 Marketer of the year which will be determined by a judging panel comprised of distinguished marketing professionals from across the country.
"I am thrilled to see Chad and Greg and the rest of their team gain some recognition for their hard work,' Rice Director of Athletics Rick Greenspan said. "They have worked tirelessly to improve all areas of our efforts and it is great to see that professionals in their field have seen fit to honor their work."
The AMA Houston Marketer of the Year reception and awards event will be held on March 18 at the Alley Theatre, Hubbard Stage. Each Best of Category winning firm will be recognized at the event and receive a trophy.
